Literature Text

- 2 years later -

He remembered that a long time ago he used to be happy. He remembered how naive and innocent he was. How he always used to think that good would always win. God why was he so stupid back then?
There is no such thing as a happy ending. Not for him anyway. The only thing that actually kept him going now was the promise.

The promise.

Many people that of him as just so freaky goth, sometimes an emo, here and there. The rest of the people on the other hand, thought that he was dead. He didn't complain, that what he wanted them to think anyway. Now he knew what she meant, when she said that people didn't see the world from another angle.
He was one of those cases. Nobody ever came up to him and know him, the only people that did were gone. He left to not become him, to keep the promise that he made to her, to them.

The promise.

It alway came back to the promise.

So he walked, and walked, and walked. He also flew, but not much. He wanted to feel human, so he did a human thing, walking. Most of the time he did odd jobs, to food or money. Though he didn't complain, that was the life of a runaway.
Right now he was walking close to a road going through a canyon, using the stars to guide him. He was somewhere around California. 'wow,' he thought, 'from Florida to California in just two days. Wow.' he almost laughed. Almost.
He kept walking and then he saw it. The city. It was beautiful, all the lights. He looked at the sing that was next to him.

JUMP CITY, CALIFORNIA
3 MILES AHEAD
POPULATION 3,472,826
HOME OF THE TEEN TITANS

The Teen Titans? 'ehhh,' he thought, 'probably just a band or something silly like that. 3 miles ahead, huh? I can make it.' he heard a noise behind him. He was paranoid, yes, but almost nothing could sneak up on him with his enhanced seances.
He looked around, nothing. Maybe it had just been his imagination, but if that was the case why did he feel that he was been watched? His gut told him to get out of there, and he had learned to trust his gut. He ran, barely suppressing the urge to transform and fly out of there at top speed, he could feel that he was being fallowed.
Now he was sure that he was being fallowed, he could hear it's steps, it's breath, it's heart beating. During the last two years he had gained a lot more stamina, sometimes he could go running at top speed for hours and not get tired. He was already in the city, the warehouse part of it he figured, and that thing was still behind him. He turned the corner in the next alley, and went invisible.
He had to stop himself from panting, but he got to get a glimpse of whatever was fallowing him. The 'it' turned out to be a man, of good build mind you, and he was waiting at the mouth of the alley, panting. He gave off a frustrated growl and left. Just like that. Now he was alone, in a city with something that was after him, with $25 in his pocket, in a city that he didn't know.

Alone.

He didn't mind he had been alone for the past 2 years, and that was how Danny liked it.
